He Belongs To Me By Theresa Rizzo
Book starts out with Catherine graduating and she can't wait to be reunited with her young son, Drew.
The temporary custody she gave her parents years ago they have now turned into legal guardians for the boy.
She'd have to move back to Chicago to get her son and give up her whole life and reunite with her husband who's she not seen nor legally separated from.
As the book goes back in time to when Catherine and Thomas had brought the twin newborns home we find out other details...Court trials...returned letters...death.
This is a painful journey for me as my son was not returned after his father had weekend visits.
Shame you have to not only get the police involved but the court system.
She and Tom come up with a plan to get Drew back but Tom won't leave this time, if it works..
So many things come out in the trial that not many knew of and it helps explain everything.

I enjoyed reading all about the depositions and other legal things as I didn't go through any of that, interesting to find out the process and the paramedic training that comes up.
Like the romantic sex scenes...Catherine and Tom both have friends that help support them through the difficult time.
The family is so damaged I don't think they can ever recover from the harm done..but they are a forgiving group..

He Belongs to Me Theresa Rizzo 9780989045018 Books Reviews

He Belongs To Me by Theresa Rizzo incorporates all the elements of a great romantic suspense...well-developed characters, gripping courtroom scenes, and a journey of heartache and hope that will touch the heart of everyone who has ever felt the injustice of circumstances beyond their control. Catherine and Thomas relunctantly set aside their personal pain in order to discover the truth and regain custody of their son. Along the way, lies and secrets are uncovered leaving the reader to ask, "What next?"

Ms. Rizzo did a fantastic job of turning the tables on character morals. I was initially prepared to dislike Catherine for the choices she'd made. Instead, as I continued to read, my opinion of Catherine - and Thomas - was reversed by the evidence of complicated layers of emotion and reason developed along the journey. The story will draw you in and keep you turning pages well beyond bedtime.

I look forward to reading more books by this author!
this is well written and I'm usually not a fan of suspense but this book was different and interesting. I have to admit I stayed up until 4am to finish it....that good!!! And of course I just had to find out what happened. Without revealing too much I did enjoy the characters and each of their development. There is a HEA with just the right amount of angst but the heat level in the book is very low. If you're looking for a spicy read it's not this one but the story is one that will get you to keep reading on and on and on!! The author was able to deliver enough of each character by giving you some insight into each of their ways of thinking without going overboard. I do not like a story that alternates each chapter with a different character and this book did not do this. You had a few paragraphs from someones point of view, in the third person. Catherine, the main character had the majority of the book but the author intertwined the rest of the characters to make the story interesting.
There are times when I don't really think a book is good I read excerpts and ok maybe. Well I did that with He Belongs to Me I didn't stop till i finished it at 430 this morning. The main characters are estranged husband and wife, who had twin boys but one dies.I absolutely like the lead up to them getting back together and the reason for it. The spin off with Thomas and Catherine,Drew and how they wound up going to court.

Loved the trial, although it became a bit much to keep reading. Very detailed, a little unclear during the hearing on why Thomas had the vasectomy. Although it is made clear during his and Catherine's talk , the attorneys never really got him to say so during the trial hearing.
I feel for Thomas, he had so many going against him, being accused of killing one of this sons can mess with ones mind, even if he was acquitted.
This book has so much realism to it, it could be someone's real life story being told word for word. This storyline just works for Me.
You simply start reading it and the atmosphere of the a Catherine's rich family tricking her into signing over custody of her remaining son. As the story unfolds you learn the horrible secrets and the deceptiveness of her father and mother just felts so natural. I can just imagine her mother doing what she did.... I don't want to give that away, because it a twist you don't see coming, except when she says now her husband will turn to her..... of boy, this book was gooooood, excellent and I couldn't stop until I reach the last page.
I loved this book! It grabbed me at the start and never let go. I sobbed when I read about Robert's death. I seethed when I learned about the custody agreement. I held my breath for the judge's decision. Who could tell how it would go?

Catherine Boyd is finally graduating from Stanford University. She will finally be able to have her son, Drew, in California with her. She is bursting with happiness. Until she finds out that the "temporary" custody agreement she signed wasn't temporary at all. She has given her son to her parents! When she consults a lawyer, she finds out that her chances of winning back custody of Drew are slim to none. Unless she moves to Illinois and reconciles with Thomas, her husband. Even then it's not a sure thing because Thomas was accused of killing Drew's twin.

This book is a roller coaster ride of emotions. And there is a sweet little boy in the middle who loves his mom and his grandparents. Being a judge really is not such an easy thing. This book will stay with you for a long time. Read it. I'm sure you will love it.
