Rocky Mountain Retreat Six Pack Ranch Book 8 edition by Vivian Arend Literature Fiction eBooks

The latest installment in Vivian Arend’s Six Pack Ranch series brings us Lee Coleman, part of the Moonshine Colemans of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. It’s a novella, a change from the past books in the series which were full-length. It still gives us all the heat and fun that the other books in the series are best known for.

Lee Coleman is in love and in deep. The problem is the girl is married and ten years older than his twenty-four years. Lee perseveres and six months later, Rachel is divorced from her cheating husband and hurting and Lee might just be the medicine she needs if she’ll let him in.

The story deals with a number of issues including adultery, mental abuse, self-worth and age discrimination. Vivian Arend tackles these issues well and with great compassion. Like his Coleman cousins and brothers, Lee knows how to make a woman happy and learns a bit about himself along the way.

The plot is well executed and fresh with great supporting characters especially Lee’s brother Trevor, the unknowing facilitator of the relationship. While part of a series, it is a stand-alone and can be read without reading the other books. But I do recommend reading all the Six Pack Ranch books for the entire story of this great family dynasty. The first book in the series, ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEAT is free as of this post date at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Rocky Mountain Retreat Six Pack Ranch Book 8 edition by Vivian Arend Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I love how Lee finally gets his dream girl...even if it had to come after she got her heart broken. Comes to show you not to rush things...if it's meant to be, it'll be no matter how long you wait. Thanks Vivian for another amazing read in the series!
I love t six pack ranch series, it has sexy cowboys and female that work hard to be a part of their lives.
Age is just a number and for this love story it was so true. When you find love fight for it, if it's meant to be it will last!
Great book! I am enjoying the Coleman series! I love the series. Vivian Arend is a great writer! I will be recommending her to my friends.
An amazing book. The storyline ranged from sad to wistful and back to sad again, with a final happy ending for two lovers who almost missed out on giving each other the perfect happy life.
Vivian Arend's books have me addicted. I never wanted the Six Pack Ranch series to end. Hot, Every book was great by itself and it is fantastic to see the characters you fall in love with in other stories. I could not put any one of these books down. Great reads that keep you turning page after page are my favorite. While I read a book a day, I am not often moved to write reviews, but I could not help myself with Vivian's books. They are irresistible!
I really like Ms. Arend. Doesn't mean I've liked all her books, though. Pleased to say, this one was good. It's an easy read, good characters, good dialogue, and well-paced.

My couple off complaints was not finishing off the "something wasn't quite right at home," thoughts that Rachel had when she was home for Christmas. Why mention it, why write that scene if there wasn't supposed to be something there? I mean, her mother left the room when she heard she was dating Lee. Finish it.

The second issue I had was at Trader's. Connect the dots for Lee and Rachel. Why did Hatch do a solid for Gary? Why was Gary's comments, both on phone and at the table, cut off, interrupted? That makes this reader want to know what he was trying to say. It's an author's tactic to cause suspense. And it did. Was Gary simply going to attempt to coax Rachel back, make excuses for his behavior, or tell her something important? I felt Ms. Arend choose the wrong way too insert Gary into the story. Regardless, it needed closure.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the series. I'm on to #9.
